Frequently Asked Questions

If this is your first purchase of a boutique candle or if you have questions about your candle, you’ve come to the right place. Our candles are manufactured and burn differently than the typical candles you find at big-box stores.

  • What is soy wax, and why is it used in candles?
Soy wax is a natural wax derived from soybeans. It is used in candles because it's renewable, biodegradable, and burns cleaner and longer than traditional paraffin wax.
  • What size candle do I need for my space?
One candle works great in bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and typically sized living/work spaces. Larger rooms or spaces with high ceilings or open floor plans may need multiple candles for the best fragrance permeation. You can have multiple candles of the same scent, or mix and match them for your own unique blend.
  • Can your containers be reused?
Absolutely! Once there is about 1/4 inch of wick remaining, stop using the candle. Use caution and care when removing the remaining wax, wicks and any labeling. Apply gentle pressure to the container (too much pressure could break the container) to scrape out the wax and wicks/wick stickers using a rigid silicone utensil. Do not use knives or other metal items on the container. Discard all wax into the trash - never put wax down the drain or garbage disposal. Then place the container in hot soapy water to soften any residue and labels. Finally, wash, rinse and dry the container. Note: we assume no liability for candle containers or subsequent results of reuse by the consumer, once purchased.
  • Can I send a candle as a gift?
Yes! If you would like a typed gift note - or if it is delivering directly to the giftee -simply make a note at checkout and we will not include a sales receipt.
  • My candle has a white chalky coating?
This is known as "frosting" in the candle industry. It is very common with soy wax and, over time, your candle will create a layer of frosting. But rest assured, this is only an aesthetic aspect and does not affect the way your candle burns or smells.
  • After burning my candle there is a rough top or pits?
The rough, bumpy tops or pits after burning soy wax candles are caused when the hot wax in the melt pool cools and solidifies at an inconsistent rate. This could be due to many factors such as environment, quick changes in temperature, or a breeze near the candle. This is a feature of soy wax, and it is not a sign you did anything incorrectly.
